You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile

As it says in one of the songs from my favourite childhood musicals Annie "Hey, hobo man, Hey, Dapper Dan, You've both got your style. But Brother, You're never fully dressed,Without a smile!"

I love getting dressed up and one of the most important things for me about fashion is that it is fun! I like to wear clothes that make me happy and make me smile. If you want doom and gloom and misery, just watch the news. Fashion should not be taken too seriously. Try adding something a bit fun or a bit wacky to your outfit and see what a conversation starter it will be.

A great way of adding a bit of fun to your outfit is with colour and pattern. On a wet and windy dull grey, nothing makes me smile more than a bright pink top or some eye catching red shoes. Unusual hats are also great for a bit of fun (although not great on very windy days), they won't just brighten up your day but also everyone around you.

In case you are still not convinced here are some great reasons to smile:

1. Smiling makes you attractive - people will be instantly drawn to you
2. Smiling helps to relieve stress
3. Smiling is contagious - once you smile, others around you will smile too
4. smiling makes you look younger (no need for a face lift, just smile)
5. smiling reduces blood pressure
6. Smiling boosts your immune system
7. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin- so you will get a natural high
8. smiling will make you happy
So now there is no excuse, choose something fun to wear and don't forget your smile.

The Black Polo Neck Jumper

Top of my list of must have items for this winter is the black polo neck jumper. Not only is it lovely and warm in the cold weather, it is also extremely versatile. Black is a flattering colour that suits most people and also can help you lose a pound or two (in appearance). But the best thing about the black polo neck jumper is that it can be layered with other clothes or accessorised in lots of different ways for an interesting and trendy look.

Some of your favourite summer clothes can gain extra mileage by wearing with tights and a polo neck for the winter. Try wearing a floral summer dress with a polo neck jumper for your own take on this seasons winter florals. The Autumn Winter 08 catwalk shows were awash with black polo neck jumpers. At Prada, they were layered under lace. At Givenchy, they were teamed with black leather trousers, a tailored jacket and layers of chains and crucifixes. At Yves St Laurent they were worn with just about everything in a minimalist style.

A great reason for wearing a polo neck is that it is a great way to show off a gorgeous statement necklace as seen at Louis Vuitton. (picture from www.elleuk.com)

This Purple Amethyst, Swarovski Crystal and Silver Necklace and Bracelet will look amazing with a black or charcoal grey polo neck jumper.

Allow Me to Mega-Introduce Myself

I'm Versace, Pudgie's cuz. As in because of the wonderful things she does. I'm her cousin. I'm a voice coming out the side of her mouths. Like a cigarette, but I smoke you. That's how it iz. You can ask Giz. I stole your girl while you were in prison...

Perfect Presidential Pup!

In my unbiased opinion, what better choice than a WHEATEN SCOTTISH TERRIER for the white house?

Snapshot Saturday

The humans are drunk on sake, Sancerre and tequila--watching Sex in the City and Conan. High on second-hand smoke, I am here with you, always ...

collision collusion collagin'

As some may not know, the cat, this cat and all cats, see the humans in 12 dimensions. You, as humans, see the above as two representations of youth.. types if you will. Pudgie sees just 2 dimensions of one √úberperson. Maybe you see the past- and the future-youth while I see The Youth.. All at once; throughout time; dissolving and exploding into the void.

They are conquering the future and losing that victorious spoil in this single instant. In every single instant.

Losing and winning.. over and over and over and over and over...

at the same time.

Mid~week Fix

Had to share with you my latest find ~ an ancient beautiful box and linen thread spools! Loved the graphics on both the box and the paper labels on the spools ~ I'm hoping I may be able to use the thread for some projects - maybe crocheted earrings?! I picked this up on my lunch break this week ~ now and then I feel like I need a pick me up, so I escape to the antique mall nearby and get myself in a little trouble. I also got a great midsize globe ~ I'll post on that later when I get a good photo. Not too much damage to my checkbook ~ a low calorie lunch too!

Is That an Extended Balcony or Are You Just Happy to See Me?

Sometimes the humans sit around and drink alcohol imported from countries with different humans. They laugh and they talk about handsome buildings and Vidal Sasson jeans and other people having sex. As stated previously, my life is one of methodical protest. I'm like Lady Chatterly's lover but with a blog instead of a lady. Maybe it's just me but I feel like all the humans are stranded in a wheelchair called Retarded Antiseptic Purposes and Repressed Desire Manifesting in Expensive Watches. I am also in a wheelchair but mine has rockets and is painted fucking awesome colors. My wheelchair is called Fuckin-A I'm a Motherfucking Cat. Is there really a difference between these wheelchairs? Sadly, no, brother-man. Yes there is, sister-girl.

Crowns on my mind

I've been thinking about crowns lately ~ there are so many different kinds I wouldn't mind adding to my collection. Well, maybe not the crown frankfurter surprise, but all the rest would do!

1. lace crown, 2. birthday crown, 3. gothic crown chimney pots, 4. crown frankfurter surprise, 5. crown moulding, 6. crowns, 7. crown & bird, 8. tailor's crown, 9. woodland crown

Too bad this is the kind of crown I will be investing in:

Wrapture! Wool Wrapped Bracelets

Thought I'd share with you some photos of the wool wrapped bracelets I have been making. I started making these last year and just can't seem to stop ~ the colors and textures are so appealing to me and compared to some of the other things I make, these go relatively quickly. I've been using kettle dyed wool yarns ~ aren't the colors gorgeous?!

Well, I thought I had come up with something new - but alas, a quick search on the internet brought up some similar bangles by designer Elizabeth Yarborough - hers are made of wool and cashmere and go for $45 - $145 here. I guess mine are a bargain at $10 - $18 at my etsy shop.
